The Three Investigators and the Secret of Terrorcastle

After the massive explosion of a high-pressure steam-chamber in the basement of Terror Castle, the house was supposed to burst and then fall down to the ground. I added steam and dust using FumeFx.

To make the raw 16.000 piece Destruction Simulation (created in Maya by Simon Ohler) work as collision objects for the fluid sim, I wrote a Maxscript that first filtered out small or invalid geometry and then combined parts with same or similar motion to bigger, more managable chunks. I ended up with a roughly 500 piece proxyversion of the destruction that worked fine in the fluid simulation.
